If you could make your pet understand one thing, what would it be?

When we think about beauty, we often focus on what we can see—skincare, makeup, or fashion. But there’s a kind of beauty that goes deeper, one that’s found in the bonds we share with those we love, including our pets.

If I could communicate one thing to my dog, it would be to let him know that I will always come back when I leave the house. It’s something I used to tell my kids when I dropped them off at daycare—“Mommy will be back.” Now, I say the same to my dog: “I see you later, baby.”

Despite my words, I can see the sadness in his eyes as I leave, and it’s clear he doesn’t fully understand. Through my camera, I’ve seen how he waits for me, experiencing moments of anxiety while I’m gone. Yet, when I return, his joy is overwhelming—tail wagging, jumping, and barking with excitement.

That reunion reminds me of a beauty that transcends appearances—the beauty of loyalty, love, and connection. My dog doesn’t care about how I look or what I’ve achieved; he simply loves me for being present in his life.

As much as I wish I could reassure him that I’ll always come back, I take comfort in the fact that his excitement shows how much our bond matters. It’s a beautiful reminder that love and loyalty are among the most radiant forms of beauty in life.
