What are your thoughts on the concept of living a very long life?
Living a very long life is an ideal that many aspire to, yet it is becoming an elusive dream for many Americans. The rise in conditions such as diabetes, high cholesterol, and other preventable health issues has significantly shortened lifespans. For this reason, I strive to prioritize my health by making conscious lifestyle choices. For example, I’ve eliminated many foods that may not directly cause, but certainly contribute to, these conditions—such as red meats and sugary drinks.
However, health isn’t just about what we eat; it’s also about how we care for ourselves holistically. I believe in aging gracefully, which includes taking care of our skin at every stage of life. Beauty doesn’t have an age limit—makeup and self-care are just as relevant at 80 and beyond as they are at 20. Looking and feeling our best isn’t about vanity; it’s about honoring the body we’ve been entrusted with.
That said, living a long life comes with responsibility—not just to care for ourselves, but to use our time wisely, love deeply, and contribute meaningfully to others. For me, as a believer in Christ, longevity isn’t just about earthly years. True longevity is more than skin deep—it’s rooted in an eternal promise. This perspective keeps me grounded and reminds me that while taking care of my body is important, my ultimate hope lies in the gift of everlasting life through Christ.
